I'm sure that you have spent at least some time reading articles on Wikipedia, so the concept of wikis probably isn't new to you. That said, you probably don't spend late nights and countless hours editing Wikipedia, so building and editing pages on our wiki may be new. Now this shouldn't be a shock to anyone, but a good place to go to learn how to edit the wiki is--drum roll please--Wikipedia!

Introduction to Building & Editing the Wiki

I'm sure that you have spent at least some time reading articles on Wikipedia, so the concept of wikis probably isn't new to you. That said, you probably don't spend late nights and countless hours editing Wikipedia, so building and editing pages on our wiki may be new. Now this shouldn't be a shock to anyone, but a good place to go to learn how to edit the wiki is--drum roll please--Wikipedia!

Below are some links to Wikipedia pages that helped me figure out how to build and edit our wiki. If you find others that helped you, then feel free to edit this page and share them.

Suggested References

  • How to Edit a Page - This is a great single page that provides a good description of the basics. It also provides a long list of example code to get you started.
  • Starting a New Page - This is obviously pretty important.
  • Manual of Style - If you decide to be really hardcore about your contributions to the wiki, then feel free to read over the official Manual of Style for Wikipedia.
  • Reference Card - If you want a quick reference sheet of wiki commands, then this is for you. The Reference Card is a cheatsheet of basic wiki commands. From this page, you can also get to a pdf version for easy printing.
